PRESS RELEASE: Measure G Passes with 71.6% Yes Vote — A Historic Win for Truckee’s Future

Truckee, CA, November 10, 2025: The Vote Yes on Measure G campaign is proud to announce the successful passage of Measure G, with 71.6% of voters supporting the initiative to fund a new, state-of-the-art Truckee Library. This decisive outcome marks a milestone in Truckee’s history and reflects the strength of a grassroots movement years in the making.

“What this vote shows is the power of community,” said Ryan Parrish, Campaign Chair for Vote Yes on Measure G. “This has truly been a collaborative effort. I am incredibly grateful for the hundreds of supporters, volunteers, donors, and advisors, who have committed so much time, energy, and heart into making this a reality.  We’re excited to work alongside our partner agencies, the Town of Truckee, Nevada County, and Placer County to bring Truckee’s new library to life.”

"The new Truckee Library will serve as a vibrant community hub for generations to come, enhancing early literacy, lifelong learning, digital access, workforce development, small business support, and emergency resilience for all residents.

The successful passing of Measure G is the first pillar of a fiscally responsible funding model: 57% of construction costs will be covered by private donors and grants, with taxpayers contributing just 43% through a modest parcel tax of 3¢ per building square foot or $29 for vacant lots. This intentional balance ensures broad community benefit while minimizing local cost and maximizing outside investment."

“This is a victory for everyone in Truckee,” said April Cole, Friends of the Truckee Library Executive Director. “Thank you to every single person who knocked on a door, made a call, wrote a letter, or shared why this library matters. This result reflects the dedication, passion, and belief that a better future is possible when we work together.”

Friends of the Truckee Library invites all community members to stay connected as this project moves into its next phases
